First Step: Establishing and Respecting Boundaries

To navigate relationships more healthily, it's vital to understand and set your personal boundaries. Reflect on these questions:

  • Do you have clear boundaries?
  • Are your friends respectful of theirs?
  • Have you compromised your values just to fit in?
  • Do you often feel uncomfortable around certain people?

The truth is, you don’t have to please everyone, especially those who disregard your boundaries. It’s essential to listen to your instincts and voice your discomfort. While compromise is essential for any relationship, mutual respect and honesty should be the foundation.

Remember, you’re not obligated to be friends with everyone. If someone continually crosses your boundaries, it may be time to reassess that relationship.
