Transforming Identity: The Key to Achieving Your Dreams

Chapter 1: Understanding Identity
If you aspire to become something, it's essential to reshape your identity.
My Writing Journey
My ambitions may seem modest, yet I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. My enthusiasm has been particularly focused on one specific platform, where I envisioned generating income through my writing. This platform seemed like a golden opportunity. I was excited to embark on my writing adventure there and committed to producing 2-3 articles weekly. However, after a couple of months, my enthusiasm began to wane. The turning point came when I realized I hadn't earned any money. Although the platform had credited my account, I was unable to access those funds due to certain stipulations I couldn't meet.
After that, I abandoned the platform and ceased all writing activities. Two months went by without any creativity or writing. With no earnings and no passion, even my love for reading diminished, resulting in a lack of learning and creation.
Ultimately, I discovered that writing wasn’t my genuine dream. I hadn’t truly aspired to be a writer; I was merely lured by the prospect of easy money that remained elusive.
Exploring My Truth
In reflecting on this experience, I began to confront the reality of my situation. I dusted off my books and acknowledged that I had been dishonest with myself. I was reluctant to admit that my motivations were primarily financial. I often hid behind the pretense of wanting to be a writer to project an image of intellectualism.
A dream cannot materialize unless it is in harmony with our genuine goals. Self-deception becomes a barrier that hinders the realization of our aspirations. Our authentic identity is demonstrated through our actions and behaviors. If we identify ourselves solely by our desire for wealth while attempting to be a genuine writer in a financially driven platform, boredom and disinterest will inevitably ensue, especially when the anticipated income fails to materialize. This reflects our true identity.
Aligning Identity with Aspirations
To truly transform into what we desire, we must adjust our identity to be in sync with our ambitions. If we aim to be writers, we should adopt the identity that embodies what real writers do. Similarly, if we aspire to attain an ideal athletic physique, we must align our identity with the habits of professional athletes.
Dreams will remain unattainable if our identity contradicts our aspirations.
