Within just four days of signing up for the Locals app, I was approached by the team to become an official ambassador in London. By the end of my first week, I had set up multiple groups, two of which currently boast nearly 1,000 members combined. In my initial month, I earned around £400 by organizing events through the app.

Many users join Locals and immediately start posting paid events, mistakenly assuming that people will flock to sign up. Utilize all six photo slots and ensure your primary profile picture accurately reflects your appearance. It's disheartening to meet someone in person who looks nothing like their photos.

Unlike platforms like Instagram or TikTok, the Locals app is designed for real-life meetups. Save the beauty filters for other social media. For the remaining five photos, showcase your interests—such as food, travel, or hobbies—and include at least one group photo to demonstrate that you are sociable and approachable.

Instead of heavily promoting your professional role, use your bio to reflect your personality and interests outside of work. If your events cater to a specific demographic or area, target those groups. If you can't find suitable groups, feel free to create your own! Just remember to join other groups as well to increase visibility.

Interacting with others and providing value is crucial for getting noticed. When you actively engage in group discussions, people will check out your profile and may reach out to you. The key to success on Locals is being helpful and approachable. People will remember how you made them feel and will be more inclined to support your events or meet you in person.

Keep in mind that free events can sometimes lead to lower attendance rates, so be prepared for that reality.

Section 2.2: Create and Foster Communities

Building communities around your interests, business, or events is essential for promoting your offerings and selling tickets. For example, a friend of mine created a group called "Get Rich Slow," where she shares insights and potentially attracts clients for her consultation services.

These communities function as a funnel in online marketing, where a percentage of group members may become paying customers.

Section 2.3: Implement Entrance Fees

When you decide to host your first paid event, opt for a low-cost venue, such as a home, park, or pub. Charging an entrance fee helps ensure that your event is well-organized and that attendees actually show up.

Most attendees at my events were personally invited. Simply posting on Locals isn't enough; engaging with others and building trust is crucial.
