A Journey of Love: Embracing Growth in 2022

Chapter 1: The Reflection Before the New Year
A few days prior to welcoming the new year, I shared a dinner with my sister, cousin, and friend Sameer. As we went around the table discussing our aspirations for the upcoming year, I found myself unexpectedly taken aback by my own response. Typically, I’m the one who meticulously outlines my goals, often using spreadsheets to map them out over decades, half-decades, yearly, and quarterly intervals. Yet, as I gazed around at the familiar faces, I realized I was uncertain about my objectives with only two days left in the year.
Even now, as I write this, I haven't fully clarified my goals for 2022. While this might usually frustrate me, I find solace in recognizing that it’s not as critical as I once thought. Time, as we perceive it, is a framework humans use to narrate past experiences and envision our desired futures. I am reassured by the idea that when it’s time for me to comprehend and establish new goals, clarity will come.
Interestingly, it was on the evening of the 30th when I became inspired to embark on a mission to spread love in tangible, measurable ways for the new year. This epiphany struck while I was reflecting on 2021. Thus began my personal campaign for the year:
2022: SPREAD LOVE.

- Express Gratitude
- Send a Positive Message
- Sing a Song
- Engage in Positive Self-Expression
Throughout this year, I am committed to daily accountability in executing these steps to foster more loving interactions in my life. Each week, I will document my highlights, actions, and outcomes. Below is my update for Week 01.
WEEKLY PROGRESS UPDATE
Each morning this week, I made it a point to express my gratitude for the new day, filled with fresh opportunities for learning and growth. I reached out with a positive message to Carlitta and also connected with Stef from KIRUNIVERSE, recognizing that I could improve in this area.
As someone who sings daily, I truly immersed myself in the songs I chose, ensuring that I was present and engaged, rather than merely going through the motions. This week, I also took my writing more seriously; I sat down, opened a fresh document for drafting articles, and devised a plan to ensure that my writings are completed and published instead of remaining dormant like so many of my previous works.
GOALS FOR IMPROVEMENT
I may need to strategize who I will reach out to until this becomes a more instinctive practice. There’s been minimal evidence of my outreach so far, even though I’ve been in touch with numerous individuals. I’m eager to enhance this aspect.
