Finding Your True Purpose: The Cost of Mediocrity

Chapter 1: The Importance of Standing for Something
The popular saying goes, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." This sentiment resonates deeply in today's society.
I find myself increasingly at odds with many of the contemporary "values" that have emerged in Western culture. Certain ideologies, such as nihilism, seem to lead us astray. It's alarming to witness how many individuals today venerate superficial things and people without a second thought. Human values appear to be overshadowed by the pursuit of likes and followers—it's a troubling reality.
It wasn't long ago that being impressionable was viewed as a weakness, but that perception has shifted dramatically. Reflecting on my past, I used to fantasize about having a clone of myself; now, I feel surrounded by replicas, and it's disheartening.
One of the most significant changes from the early 2000s is the way individuals now idolize themselves. Many seem to have lost touch with their true identities and simply go along with the crowd. However, it's essential to remember that the only beings that go with the flow are dead fish.
This isn't a diatribe; rather, it's an observation of the world around me. Writers, in particular, often occupy the periphery of society. We tend to perceive realities without the distortions of societal filters.
For many of us, writing is a serious pursuit. We genuinely believe that our words can transform lives and influence society. Yet, within our community, there exists a distinct minority who yearn for their ideas and legacies to endure beyond their time. Personally, I am driven by the desire for my spirit to continue its work even after I am gone, and I view writing and podcasting as vehicles to achieve that.
If there is one lesson I want my readers to grasp from my philosophy, it is this: the pain of living an average life is far more profound than the discomfort that comes with change and the pressure to conform.
